If your child has an EHCP and needs more support than SEN Support to access mainstream education, you can request a Resourced Provision place when naming a placement in the EHCP. A central Local Authority panel allocates places in consultation with the host school - referral is via your SEN casework officer, not a direct application. Dozens of Bradford primary, secondary and nursery settings host a Resourced Provision, covering communication/interaction (including ASD), SEMH, SLCN, physical and complex needs.

Following a social care assessment, a personal budget gives families choice and flexibility over the support their child receives - as a direct payment, managed by the Trust, via a third party, or a combination. Requests go to the Disability Resource Panel for a funding decision.

An EHCP is a legal document for children and young people (0-25) with SEND who need more support than SEN Support alone can provide. It sets out the support needed, the goals to work towards, and who will help. Not everyone with SEND needs one.
